Data Retention
Chravel retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing travel services, maintaining booking and financial records, administering memberships and credits, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, securing the Platform, and meeting legal obligations.
Retention depends on the type of information, the purpose for which it is processed, applicable legal requirements, and the settings and contractual terms of the relevant service provider.
Chravel's retention schedule covers the following categories:
- Account and profile information: retained while the account is active and for any additional period reasonably necessary for account administration, legal obligations, security, or dispute resolution.
- Booking and transaction records: retained for the periods required by applicable accounting, tax, travel, consumer-protection, and other laws, and as reasonably necessary to administer bookings and resolve disputes.
- AI conversations and itinerary data: retained according to the relevant feature's functionality, user settings, applicable provider terms, and Chravel's documented retention schedule.
- Analytics information: retained according to the analytics configuration, applicable consent choices, provider settings, and legal requirements.
- Support and complaint records: retained as reasonably necessary to resolve requests, document outcomes, address disputes, and meet legal obligations.
- Security and authentication logs: retained for a period appropriate to security monitoring, investigation, and applicable legal requirements.
- Membership, credits, and consent records: retained as necessary to administer benefits, demonstrate relevant transactions and consent, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
When personal information is no longer needed, Chravel will delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it where appropriate, subject to legal preservation requirements and legitimate claims.
Where applicable law requires specific retention periods or criteria to be disclosed, Chravel will provide them in the relevant notice.
